Trial Scheme on Opening up the Arena of Selected Sports Centres for Booking by Individuals for New Sports Activities
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has been committed to promoting the development of diversified sports activities. With the increasing popularity of new sports activities in recent years, the LCSD has launched the “Trial Scheme on Opening up the Arena of Selected Sports Centres for Booking by Individuals for New Sports Activities” since October 2019. To further promote new sports activities, starting from 15 January 2025, the LCSD will open up the arenas of six additional sports centres for booking by individuals for dodgeball, dodgebee, kin-ball, korfball, pickleball and tchoukball activities and extend the booking arrangements to cover peak hours. Members of the public may book these arenas on a first-come, first-served basis up to 7 days in advance via the SmartPLAY system, i.e. sessions on 15 January will be available for booking starting 9 January. Remarks: Organisations which would like to book the arenas of sports centres under the LCSD for new sports activities may submit block booking applications to the relevant leisure venues according to the Booking Procedure for Use of Fee Charging Recreation and Sports Activities (https://www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/facilities/facilitiesbooking/procedure/feeorganisation.html) after seeking prior agreement from the venue management.
