Venue Partnership Scheme

Preamble

The Venue Partnership Scheme was launched in 2009 by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) at its performance venues.  The Scheme, as an arts development initiative, aims to foster partnerships between the performance venues and performing arts groups/organisations with the objectives of enhancing the artistic image and character of individual venues and their partners, enlarging the audience base, optimising the use of venue facilities, and formulating venue-based marketing and promotion strategies.  The Scheme also promotes arts in the community and encourages community involvement in arts development.  The first four rounds of the Scheme have been fully implemented during 2009-2022.  The 5th round of the Scheme implements from April 2022 to March 2026.

Under the 5th round of the Scheme, 22 local art groups and consortia of different art forms are selected and became the Venue Partners at 12 LCSD's performance venues.  Support to the Venue Partners is given in various forms, including priority booking of venue facilities, free work stations, enhanced publicity arrangements and part of the funding for organising activities and related production, promotion, staff and administrative costs.  Activities organised by Venue Partners cover a variety of stage performances, educational and audience-building activities in various art forms.  For more programme information, please visit the website of individual venues.

East Kowloon Cultural Centre - Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme

ThThe Chief Executive’s 2020 Policy Address has pointed out that the integration of arts and innovation and technology (I&T) has become a new trend in arts development. The application of technology has extended the horizon of creativity in the arts and brought new opportunities for the arts and creative industries. The LCSD plans to adopt advanced innovative technology and set up the East Kowloon Cultural Centre (EKCC) as an incubator for the development of arts and technology, so as to identify new emerging trends in the arts, and seize the opportunities that come with I&T. To achieve this, the LCSD plans to initiate a two-year Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme at the EKCC from April 2024 to March 2026 to foster partnerships between the EKCC and artists/arts groups/organisations with the objectives of enhancing the artistic image and character of individual venues and their partners, enlarging the audience base, optimising the use of venue facilities, formulating venue-based marketing and promotion strategies, and promoting arts in the community as well as encouraging community involvement in arts development. The submission for proposals to the EKCC Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme was closed on 18 January 2023 5:30pm. Selection results are aimed to announce in the 4th Quarter of 2023. Thank you for your support!
