The “Badges Award Scheme” aims to provide systematic sports training for students. National Sports Associations (NSAs) develop skills assessment standards based on different badges to test the skill levels of the participants, who can then set short-term sports training goals to gradually improve their skills. This scheme also encourages students with outstanding performance to continue with advanced training.
The scheme covers a total of 30 sports including Athletics, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Bodybuilding, Canoe, Cricket, Cycling, Dragon Boat, Dragon Dance, Fencing, Gateball, Gymnastics, Handball, Korfball, Lacrosse, Life Saving, Muaythai, Netball, Orienteering, Rowing, Rugby, Shuttlecock, Sport Climbing, Squash, Tennis, Tenpin Bowling, Duathlon, Volleyball and Wushu. Interested schools may arrange their students to participate in the specific programmes of relevant sports under the “School Sports Programme”.
