Stadium Assistant (Part-time Vacancies in Hong Kong Stadium)


Salary: HK$70.00 per hour

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should:
(a) have attained an education level of Form 5 or equivalent; 
(b) have at least 1 year’s part-time working experience; 
(c) be able to speak Cantonese and English fluently; have some knowledge of Putonghua.
 
Possession of the following will be an advantage:
(a) experience in ushering, security duties, customer services or organising recreational activities;
(b) a valid First Aid Certificate.


Duties:
1. To handle general enquiries and provide customer services;
2. To check admission tickets and to provide ushering service;
3. To prepare the venue set-up, decoration and facilities for the events and tidy up after the events;
4. To assist in crowd control;
5. To assist in performing security duties; 
6. To assist in enforcing the Stadia Regulation and the Conditions for the Use of Stadium; and
7. To perform other duties as assigned by Stadium Staff and Senior Stadium Assistants.

【Note: Appointees may be required to work outdoor, in inclement weather or environments affected by sound effects.  To perform duties, appointees may be required to walk up and down steep staircases, and stand or walk for a prolonged period of time for patrolling the Stadium.】

Working Hours:
Successful applicants will be required to perform outdoor duties on pre-events, event days and post-events and work irregular hours and shifts (including Saturdays, Sundays and General Holidays).  Actual working hours will be arranged by supervisors.  If there is operational need, the successful applicants may also need to perform duties in Mong Kok Stadium and So Kon Po Recreation Ground.
 
Arrangement of Interview:
Eligible applicants will be invited in writing for an interview which will be held in August 2024 in the Hong Kong Stadium.  The applicants are required to attend the interview according to the scheduled date and time specified in the letter of invitation.  For applicants who fail to attend the interview, their applications for the post of Stadium Assistant will be considered unsuccessful. 

Terms of Appointment:
Successful applicants will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 24 months.

1. Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department.  The form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s web site:

2. Duly completed application forms, together with copies of relevant supporting documents, submitted in person or by post, should reach the enquiry address below on or before the closing date below (for application by post, the postmark date will be deemed the date of submission).  Please specific “Application for the post of Non-Civil Service Contract Part-time Stadium Assistant” on the envelope.  For submission in person, the application should reach the enquiry address below by 5:30 p.m. of the closing date.
3. Applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been paid before posting so as to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application.  Any underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate.  An applicant will bear any consequence arising from not paying sufficient postage.
4. Applications which are incomplete / late / not duly signed/ not made in the prescribed form will not be considered.
5. Applicants who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about 6 to 8 weeks from the closing date for applications.  Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

(g) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible.  If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. 
(h) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.  They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the enquiry address.
(i) All qualifications and working experience required should be obtained on or before the application deadline.  Qualifications and working experience obtained after the application deadline will not be considered.
