Summer Intern (Hong Kong Public Libraries) – Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2024


Salary:
$11,200 per month 
 
Vacancies of Summer Intern in the following disciplines are available:
(A) Computer Science
(B) Chinese Language and Literature/Humanities/History
(C) Languages/Translation/Literature/History/Social Sciences
(D) Music
(E) Arts (excluding Graphic Design and Music)
(F) Fine Arts / Design
(G) Education/Marketing/Event Management/Social Science
 

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should 
1. be permanent resident of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region enrolled in full-time accredited courses in post-secondary institutions in Hong Kong or overseas; and
2. enter their final year of undergraduate programme after the summer of 2024 (final year students will not be considered).

Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates are normally required to work 44 hours per week (including meal breaks) and may also be required to work outside normal office hours, during weekends and / or public holidays.  Overtime work, where necessary, will be compensated by time-off in lieu.

Applicants should forward the completed application form together with a copy of certificate issued by his/her post-secondary institution certifying his/her student status to the contact address below by post on or before the closing date of application.  Please mark on the envelope “Application for the position of Summer Intern”.  Incomplete submissions or applications submitted via email will not consider.  Each applicant should apply for a vacancy in one discipline only.  Applications for the vacancies in more than one discipline will NOT be considered.  If there are a large number of applications, applicants will be invited for interview only if their applications have been successfully drawn by the computer and they meet the entry requirements.  Applicants who are not invited to an interview by 30 June 2024 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.  Information on unsuccessful applicants will normally be destroyed 24 months after rejection of the applicants’ applications.
 
Applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting so as to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application.   Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to the contact address and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate.  Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage.
