For the Department and Staff

• The Department's bird-keeping staff have been strictly following departmental guidelines on contact with birds during the course of work and to enhance their personal hygiene.

• All cleansing staff and contractors have been wearing proper protective gear/clothing when handling bird droppings left on the ground. They have also been instructed not to use high pressure jets for clearing bird droppings left on the ground.

• A set of comprehensive guidelines has been issued to the staff for proper handling of dead or injured/sick wild birds found at any LCSD venue. This is to ensure both personal hygiene of the staff and environmental cleanliness.

• The Department will continue to reinforce the cleansing work at its venues so as to maintain environmental hygiene.
