2026 Music Office Youth Choir Singapore Tour
16-21 July

The Music Office Youth Choir (MOYC) will embark on a musical journey to Singapore in July. Led by Senior Music Officer (Musicianship/ Training Support), Ms Lai Wing-yan, and four accompanying staff, 53 choir members will participate in the Singapore International Choral Festival 2026, joining young singers from around the world in a celebration of choral music.
MOYC will compete in two categories, Mixed Voices 25 Years and Below, and Musica Sacra Open. The choir will solemnly perform sacred classics such as Bruckner's Locus Iste, Byrd's O Lord Our God, Petker's Te Deum and Laudamus Propter Musicam, and Lim Geok-choo's Gloria. Additionally, members will present contemporary pieces like Hagenberg's Measure Me, Sky! and Goodbye, Hello! by Hong Kong composer Cynthia Wong. By presenting a rich and diverse repertoire, the choir will demonstrate the boundless potential of Hong Kong's youth and introduce original local work to audiences in Southeast Asia.
In addition, MOYC members will visit several renowned cultural landmarks, including the highly esteemed Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the iconic Victoria Concert Hall, The Arts House, and the world-class Esplanade Concert Hall. They will participate in official competitions, attend choral workshop, engage in exchanges with other choirs, give outreach performances, and receive feedback from adjudicators, aiming to enable members to learn from and inspire music lovers from diverse backgrounds, refining their skills and broadening their musical horizons.
