The Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band presents an assortment of band masterpieces inspired by fairy tales, legend and biblical epic. Through vivid and enchanting musical narratives, music aficionados will be led on a journey through an enthralling realm of endless imagination.
Highlights include Daniel’s adaptation of Prokofiev's beloved children’s favourite Peter and the Wolf, brought to life with live narration by radio personality Eunice Chow; a wind interpretation of Dukas’s whimsical and spirited The Sorcerer's Apprentice; a powerful rendition of the Chinese heroic legend Hou Yi Shooting the Sun; the timeless biblical epic Noah's Ark; and a nostalgic medley of music from the cinematic classic The Wizard of Oz.

Lee Sing-wan

| Lee Sing-wan is currently Senior Music Officer of the Wind Section of the Music Office, conductor of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band, and instructor of lower brass instrumental classes of the Office. Lee graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong and the Messiah University of United States, from which he earned a Master’s degree of Education (Music) and a Master’s degree of Music in Conducting (Wind Conducting) respectively. Lee has extensive teaching and performance experience. His students have won multiple awards in various music festivals and competitions. In addition, Lee has many onstage experiences with different music ensemble groups in regions including Australia, Chinese Mainland, Japan, Macao, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States. Notable performances include appearances at the “Hong Kong Week of Shanghai Expo”, “Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival”, “Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition”, “Asia and Pacific Band Directors’ Association Conference” and “World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles Conference”, all of which received widespread acclaim. |

Kevin Ling

| Kevin Ling is currently Music Officer of the Wind Section of the Music Office, serving as a saxophone instructor, and conductor of the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band. Ling is one of the most active saxophonists in Hong Kong’s contemporary scene. He graduated from Trinity College of Music in the UK and the Education University of Hong Kong, where he earned a Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Performance and a Master of Arts in Music Education respectively. Meanwhile, he attained the FTCL in Saxophone from Trinity Guildhall, and received the Music Monetary Award from the Trinity College and the Instrument & Equipment Award from the EMI Music Sound Foundation. Ling spares no effort in promoting saxophone music in Hong Kong. In earlier years, he founded the Hong Kong Saxophone Ensemble with fellow local saxophonists, and frequently participates in many international saxophone events. He also set up the Holiday Sax, a local saxophone ensemble that provides a platform for young players and students to perform in public. Ling regularly works together with local and overseas composers, and premieres their works at various saxophone events around the world. He is also a freelance player of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and an instrumental instructor of the Education University of Hong Kong. Apart from coaching and performing, Ling also served as an adjudicator, and was invited by the Instituto Cultural do Governo da R.A.E. de Macau to be one of the adjudicators in the Macao Young Musicians Competition. |

Eunice Chow

| Classically trained as a pianist and composer, Eunice Chow graduated from the Royal College of Music (London) with a Distinction in Masters in Advanced Performance. She previously held the position of Principal Keyboard with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta before exploring the world of radio broadcasting and production. When she was a full-time broadcaster at RTHK Radio 4, Eunice produced the programme “Musical Exchange” which was included in the “Top 10 Favourite Radio Programmes” in 2015. She was also named one of RTHK’s “Favourite English Presenters” in 2017. With her unique background as a classically trained musician and professional trilingual presenter, Chow has enjoyed a multifaceted career with more than 20 years of experience as a voice-over artist, presenter, compere and music educator. As a highly sought-after trilingual compere, Chow has hosted high profile events such as the Flag-Raising Ceremony cum National Day Reception, as well as frequently collaborating with performing arts bodies like the HK Phil, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Ballet, and various business establishments. As a TV presenter, Chow has hosted the RTHK TV 31 chat show “Music Talks” in which she interviewed celebrated musicians from diverse backgrounds - from the field of classical music, jazz and blues all the way to the local artists of Chinese Music. As a host and interviewer for Radio 4’s bilingual live-broadcast “Chamber Resonance: Studio 2 Music Salon”, Eunice’s warm and engaging presentation style has garnered much praise from critics and audiences alike. Chow is frequently heard in documentaries and commercials and has, on numerous occasions, collaborated with various performing groups as narrator and voice-actor in concerts. |
